From Jim C. (02/19/10)
Well I was a 9 pin away from my first 300 game last night at Midtown.  First game I opened up with 2 strikes, then 9 pin left standing (spare), then finished out with 9 straight.  I just again want to thank you for all you have done for both Jean and I with the sport of Bowling.  Who knew that a game that most people get drunk and heave a 16 pound ball down the lane on a Friday night, could turn into an EXCELLENT character building and relationship foundation for Jean and I.  Thanks again Lucy for all you do.

From Nathan F. (02/02/10)
Third game tenth frame I throw the ball and it hits pocket and I leave a nasty ten pin. When I walked back I picked up my spare ball and I stepped onto the approach. When I set myself and i looked up and I could only think of one thing, my coach Lucy Sandelin. She has taught me everything I need to know to knock down this one pin. As I blocked everything out that one pin sat there. Thinking about all the 10 pins I’ve missed and made it all came down to this one. I start my walk and I release the ball when I look up, I hit the ten pin dead on and the only thing that ran through my mind was you taught me how to do that. Of all the ten pins I left you knew I was once going to need this to do something amazing and well THANKS to you I did do something amazing. 279,184,238 and yes I'm a nice guy let me do the math for you those three game equals a 701! Without your help with the ten pin I never would have shot this series tonight and I'm writing this to say thank you. You are the best coach I ever had and I'm proud to say I have bowled for you. THANK YOU!

If you want to know what is the value of working with Coach Sandelin then
listen to this: we relayed a testimony on 2/22/2009...well since then, Chris
has won 2 additional tournaments. The Southwest Florida Youth Classic Tournament
(http://www.southwestfloridaclassic.com/index.html) and at the 31 July
Spring Hill Pro-Am tournamnet he placed 5th out of 106 bowlers.  Shooting a
194 Avg over 5 games, while bowling with 3 PBA geats of Doug Becker, William
brewington, and Barry Staley.  What pressure huh?  Again, what we enjoy
about Coach Sandelin is her no non-sense approach, attention to detail and
if you want to lose weight then schedule a 1 hour session and you will be
through for the rest of the day because she will push you from the time your
lesson starts to the last second of your lesson.  If you want to see Chris
in action, then catch him at Oakfield lanes, he is the one rolling with 2
hands similiar to PBA newcomer Jason Belmonte.  Thanks again coach.

From Christine S. (3/26/09
Lucy has helped me trememdously in the past year.  Although we don't have regularly scheduled lessons, the ones we have had (four in the year) have helped.  She takes my game, studies it, and guides me through different ways to improve it.  I averaged 195 in previous years, not bad.  I settled for that.  Lucy helped me move ahead in my game, mentally and physically.  She showed me how to really focus and stay strong.  Two main things we did physically is move back on the approach to create more power, swing, follow thru and strong legs.  Secondly, I changed my right shoe (I'm right handed) to a more stable, solid, not so slippery shoe.  This gives me more 'grip' on the lane in my approach and keeps my feet in line.
Report for the past 6 weeks:  I shot three 700's (700/702/716 clean), two 279 games, 280, and 286 this morning.  I have never had two 700's in two days until last week, and today I shot 177-223-257-286.   I'm averaging 202 now in league.  I keep the ball in play very well, miss very few spares, and do NOT get upset about anything.  Lucy says there is NO room for negativism!!!
Lucy has great knowledge, a superb teaching style, and she will work with you and your game.  And I agree with the other writer about the Quiet Eye technique.  That will definitely help you be calm, focused, and in control.

From Nick B. (3/13/09):

From Stephen and Christopher C. (2/22/09):
Coach Sandelin, my son and I are truly honored to have the opportunity to train with you. Our favorite bowling alley (Oakfield Lanes) spoke highly of you when we were inquiring about a bowling coach.  After only 3 of my many lessons I will have with you my score have risen up 50 points to a solid 190.  Christopher has been bowling seriously for roughly 3 months and with only 7 lessons with you he achieved the techniques to win the 22 Feb South-West Florida Classic at AMF Florida Lanes with scores of: 161, 199, 149, 183, 198 and a championship game of 212.  Thank you for your honest feedback during our sessions and we look forward to training with you during the upcoming months.

From Jenn B (2/18/09):
just wanted to tell you that i shot my first sanctioned 800, with an 820 =). no 300's, but i'll take what i shot...269, 274 and 277.  So it was definitely a very good day. Cant even believe I managed to shoot so well the last game lol. and it was with the Gamebreaker...that ball is pretty amazing."

From Rich B. (2/13/09):
Lucy, amazing.  698 267 last night.  First game 227 I had 2 open frames both splits, everything else dead in the pocket strikes.  2nd game 267 with a converted split and a 9 pin in the tenth, all else strikes.  3rd game the lanes started breaking down and was fighting it a little, moved left but still had ball moving.  I was leary about changing to a less aggressive ball.  Still managed a 204 out of it.  I worked on my arm, feet and hand and I used the BITE.  I want to thank you for the assistance, I think I am back on track.

From Kyle's Mom (3/31/08):
Just wanted to tell you that Kyle practiced on Friday evening and bowled a 180!!! I was SO EXCITED for him!!! I believe he was using many of the key techniques that you have taught him because he looked like a real natural.
Thank you so much for coaching him!!

From Paul A. (2/18/08)

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed our lesson Friday. Unfortunately, I left 7 10 pins on Friday night. With much excitement and your 33 board across arrow 4 I made them all. It was awesome and my confidence grew with each shot. The last 4 10's came at the end of game 3. I made them all and finished w/ a 235. Before your help that game may have gone south. I look forward to bowling again and I feel like your coaching will only help me. You are a great lady and our family enjoys you immensely.

From Stephanie (8/6/07):
I bowled my first 210 game ever at the Pinsetters Tournament this weekend with my new ball.  It was simply wonderful.  Thanks again for all of your help.  I am more confident when I setup and am learning to make adjustments when needed.
